Smiley is making a big impact in Korea this year, collaborating on a huge promotion with department store giants Hyundai in a deal brokered by Walton Brown.  The activation includes a wide range of in-store displays, outdoor installations, pop up events, and guerilla marketing, and will be on display in and around 15 different department store across Seoul and South Korea.

This is the first time ever that a department chain in Korea has kept up one theme throughout an entire year, so it’s a huge win for everyone at Smiley and Walton Brown, and demonstrates the confidence in Smiley to consistently drive sales and spread happiness amongst consumers!

Hyundai will also be hiring around 30,000 workers to help distribute Smiley Badges in department stores around the country, so you’ll never be far from a Smile! Shoppers can also pick up exclusive Smiley pouch and shoulder bags from Forum the Store free with purchase, and snap up one of the million Smiley sticker packs that will be distributed across the 15 stores.

The fun and games continue outside the store, with a huge six metre Smiley inflatable installation greeting happy shoppers at Hyundai’s flagship department store in Seoul. The beautiful balloon has a button installed nearby which raises a charity donation from Hyundai with every push!

You should also keep an eye out for the Smiley Camper Van that will be travelling the country to spread happiness, inspire fun photos, and handing out free bouncy balls to shoppers of all ages! 🙂

To mark this amazing event, Hyundai have also featured Smiley heavily in their online presence, with icons festooned across their website and the Hyundai Times online newsletter. Other digital promotions include a fun Smiley ‘Search and Find’ game for your little ones, with chances to win Smiley sticker packs and other cool prizes!

And just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be any more on offer, Hyundai have announced that they will be pulling together a performance group to tour the country, featuring a well known busking duo and an incredible illusionist, and even a one-off ballet performance themed around Smiley and happiness!
