Glastonbury has arrived, and Smiley are joining in the festival fun. With flags, badges and stickers, we’re here to make sure you keep smiling – come rain or shine!
The sun wasn’t shining, but people were still smiling as Smiley joined the queues at Castle Cary train station to head to Glastonbury Festival 2016. With headliners, Muse, Adele and Coldplay rocking the stage, the British summer weather won’t be raining down on anyone’s parade. The Smiley team were out in force with one of their iconic 15ft Smiley rainbow flags billowing in the wind. Handing out badges, stickers and even FREE FLAGS to a lucky few, the long queue was most entertained as the steady stream of glittered and determined festival-goers were motivated and encouraged to smile by Smiley.
The station crew were quick to get involved, handing out stickers and chatting to the queue making the time pass quicker. At one point, the Smiley team even got a shout out on the tannoy thanking them for coming to the station to spread smiles. You could really feel the festival atmosphere already (and that wasn’t just from the warm, comforting scents from The Butty Box or the tempting calls from the guys manning the local Somerset cider stand – 2.5 litres for a tenner !) as strangers chatted and made friends, helped each other, danced to the live two-man guitar and double bass band, sang and shared in each other’s excitement.
The magic of festivals is like no other, and Smiley’s eternal presence at music events around the world similarly symbolises that very same magic to all, that of pure, simple happiness that anyone can share and be a part of.
We hope to see you soon at a festival near you!
