Smiley and Good Sign Man are on the road again, this time stopping off at the über cool, Coachella festival.

Coachella is playing host to another killer line-up this year, featuring LCD Soundsystem’s first festival reunion, as well as Guns n’ Roses’ first festival gig, and sets from Major Lazer, Underworld, Foals, A$AP Rocky, Calvin Harris amongst many, many more in one of the biggest and most musically diverse festivals on the planet.

Smiley have a long and intrinsic history with music festivals: where there is live music, the good outdoors and positive vibes, there is Smiley. From as early as 1972, when the Smiley was first trademarked, Smileys were used to promote festivals, such as the Windsor Free Festival here.

Since then, flags have been seen fluttering on the horizons of every festival, and festival-goers are adorned in Smiley t-shirts, accessories and more recently, festival essentials like tents and ponchos.

This year, Smiley has expanded its festival presence. Not only will the Smiley logo be seen at music’s top gigs and sets, it has joined forces with This Is A Good Sign to create a Smiley movement, spreading happiness through everyone, connecting people at festivals through shared smiles, and connecting people on social media through the hashtag #BeSmiley. So far, we’ve been to SXSW, Run River North’s tour, as well as spontaneous street moments of sharing smiles with happy people in Detroit, and lots of cool bars showcasing the best in ne, independent music. As well as Coachella, we’ll be at Burning Man and loads of university campuses (full list here) so make sure you come find us for your very own Smiley x This Is A Good Sign free signs to keep forever!
